So what if you have friends and you have really really top secret AI to share with them. You don't want just any public person to come along to the forum and be able to see it. They can steal it and obtain fame & fortune, go and make an evil version of it, etc. It seems fun to have a wider audience, but it is actually very dangerous. It's much more safe and still as communitive to have a private area on the forum where only certified members that are 100% understood to be safe can see and share classified things. That is much funner than PM-ing friends.

To get certified you must be approved by all members after demonstrating a combination of:
- Being a long-time user.
- Showing a video (and proving its not just some video).
- Showing your life's work (and proving it is yours)
- Showing us your AI work (and proving it is yours)
- Understanding deep things.
- Being certain people.
- Anything else you can come up with.

Isn't that what social networks are for? On Facebook you can setup that only friends can see your posts. Google+ gives finer graining where at each post you can setup which circles can view it. Twitter probably has something similar to Facebook, but I didn't check it.

I think that Google+ would mostly suit your demands, but it is not easy to get people interested in what you're publishing.

There is already a private forum for our Trusty Members - that board is only for you guys and girls. I think Zero was hinting at it. General visitors don't see it.

I already said something similar - I can PM who I choose on this very site. However I, and yous I'm sure, don't find that very, communitive, because no one else can see it and there's no discussion between more than 2 people usually, on a big thread page, and is less fun to go to.
