Actually this choice of a TTS voice has a great deal to do with the listener's overall perception of which words were or were not intelligible.

Secondly, this test example would be best done with no words being displayed on screen at all. Having the words displayed greatly influences the listener's decision on the intelligibility of the word(s) because we humans rely on close captioning not only for the hearing impaired but for our ability to understand foreign language films.

While I appreciate your efforts, your experiment could be tweaked to provide a better cross-section of the Voice / understanding experience. Of course, this is just my humble opinion.
