Title: Dewey Drone birthday cake
Post by: Tony Ellis on August 29, 2016, 10:35:02 am
It was my 60th birthday this year and I was lucky enough to get a birthday cake of Dewey Drone No 1 (one of my favorite movie robots) from the fantastic seventies film Silent Running. Here is the cake alongside a real Dewey robot!

Cool! Tony, I would have loved a piece of that cake but it looked almost too nice to cut it!

Hopefully it was digitally delicious!

* Am I to assume that the robot version is another one of your creations and that it works as well as AIMEC?

Thanks for sharing!

Art, I could not face cutting Dewey as the cake was so perfect, so I donated it to a charity who made a few bob out of it. Dewey (Drone 1) is from the film Silent Running, to my mind one of the best Scifi films ever made here is a clip showing Dewey

My ALTAIR robots supersede the AIMEC series they have much better technology.

Hi, Tony.
http://imgur.com/ (http://imgur.com/)
This site seems working pretty fine for me.

There appears to have no time limit whatsoever beside the file size limits;
https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/210076663-Upload-Images (https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/articles/210076663-Upload-Images)

While you may also alter and crop the size, the uploaded images came with different sizes at once with different links; Original, small square, big square, small thumbnail, medium thumbnail large thumbnail, and huge thumbnail. You can choose which size to post as a thumbnail image in the forum to display as the forum does not alter the size, which eats space (I think), and finally include a link to the full size image.

The albums also easy to manage and has many other useful features. You can take a look at the basics if you wish to; https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/categories/201201803-The-Basics (https://help.imgur.com/hc/en-us/categories/201201803-The-Basics)

I believe you also need an account.  O0

What Kei said :)

I use Photobucket myself so that's another option.

You can also upload images to your posts if you need to, but some times it's better to have them inline and that's where the image sites come in for me.

Seems strange that Google of all places doesn't work though. It might be a regional thing.

I actually saw the working image posted by @Tony. Now that you mention it, it became a grey cancel-icon-sort-of-thing with white background.

Edit: Oh, nice! I didn't know that we can attach images. Beneath the reply box where you input your post message is the "Attachments and other options", expand that and you can select Browse to attach a file of the following allowed extension types; txt, doc, pdf, jpg, gif, mpg, png, hap, zip, brn, rar, htr, bmp, and aiml -- with a bit of file size limitation and number of files allowed.

Edit 2: Oh, the upload attachment is only available for trusty members, no wonder I just discovered it. You sir is a trusty member, Tony. :D

I taken Freddys advice and changed the photo host to Photobucket - I hope the pics are visible now to all the forum?

I had no trouble viewing your original postings so must be an issue on your side of the big pond.;)

Tony, if you happen to have a small video of Dewey (or others) working or running about please post them.

Also, Your Cubes were some of the most entertaining devices we've seen for such a small size.
Are they still selling? I have seen them on ebay as well.

Cheers!
