Interesting project to let "you" live forever
« on: September 26, 2015, 06:36:33 pm »
Do you want part of you to live forever? One place claims to let you do that. IT is called LifeNaut. It lets you create mind files which contain as much information about yourself as possible. They use the   information, memories, values, and beliefs to create a mind file and eventually want to put you into a robot. They even have biofiles that you can send swabs of your cells so that someday they can create a new body and upload your consciousness into it.

Quote
Bina48 is one of the worlds most advanced social robots based on a composite of information from several people including, Bina Aspen, co-founder of the Terasem Movement. She was created using video interview transcripts, laser scanning life mask technology, face recognition, artificial intelligence and voice recognition technologies. As an “ambassador” for the LifeNaut project, Bina48 is designed to be a social robot that can interact based on information, memories, values, and beliefs collected about an actual person.

As such, Bina48 is an early demonstration of the Terasem Hypothesis, which states:

1) A conscious analog of a person may be created by combining sufficiently detailed data about the person (a mindfile) using future consciousness software (mindware).

The last time I saw a video with Bina, it appeared to be an AIML clone rather than anything jawdropping.

I agree with Steve and actually think I posted that article quite a while back (couple years or so). Then again, things can always change.

Until Google's quantum computer takes over the AI market we might be sort of stuck with AIML, unfortunately.
(nothing against AIML just against the lack of forward momentum in this area by anything else noteworthy.).
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!
