You're not alone, my memory is getting worse. I pull a complete blank sometimes, my solution so far is to write things down in notebooks. Oh yeah and then I forget where I left the notebook. No just joking about that last bit.

Same but mine had/has to do with drugs...I mean...Dr. prescribed medications. After reading all the various side effects of my meds, one of the top listed symptoms is memory problems, dizziness, confusion, possible weight gain and all those other after thoughts or effects that can beset an individual.

After my initial surgery several years ago, my short term memory was so bad that I had to purchase (at the time), a smart phone and download some apps that would allow me to keep track of people, names, places, things, events, appointments, work related schedules, etc.
The smart phone, to me became a life saver, a "second brain", a friend of whom I was never without.

After a little over a year later, I had noticed that a lot of my memory was easier to recall without so many visits to my phone's brain. It eventually did become a lot easier but never to the point where it was before the surgeries. Fact of life, in my case and my Doctor even warned me that a lot of people are often affected by such surgeries in this manner.

Forewarned being forearmed seemed like a nice thing at the time, but when it happens you are never prepared to have doors inside your mind closed no matter how hard you turn the knob.

Some things we live with, others we endure in our own way and make allowances for them. Some other things, we, thankfully, get over.

Lastly, with old age comes wisdom and a lot of other maladies that they never warned you about! Memory being one of them. While Fish oil, Omega Fatty acids, Vitamin B12 and other niceties might offer a bit of help, face it, aging is something that every living thing does whether it wants to or not.

Live the moment and enjoy the ride.

I'm sorry, what was the question again? ;)

An expert system, I think, would be very useful under these circumstances.

Ya we all get old on the inside even if we do not look our age on the outside.

Dont be tricked into thinking its normal.   Where we live is a useless pathetic place compared to what it could have been.

It does no good to think about what could have been or should have been. Those kind of things only serve to make yourself miserable.

If you dont make your dream come true, your life was a waste of time best served with a kitana in the guts.

DO OR DIE.
DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR.
PAIN BEFORE PLEASURE.
Lazy boys never finish their projects...

If I dont get it back, id rather die.

But coming back down to reality, not everyone is destined to be the king or ruler or programmer or Doctor, etc. Some are born to create, write, dream, build, design, enjoy teaching, sharing time with others, their children or grandchildren. Not everyone who does not choose to fight is a coward nor is everyone who does fight a brave and victorious hero.

We each have our unique purpose in life. Don't try to lump everyone into one group when there are so many groups from which to choose. Life is about choices and the journey we all choose to take.

Enjoy your pain if that's your choice but I should think most would rather enjoy the pleasure of living to a nice older age.  O0
