Terre Haute, IN

Four Rose-Hulman students hope to win some cash for their college.

They're participating in the "Robot Art" contest with students from around the world. Students must program a robot arm to paint a picture.

"The robot will look at the painting and say this brush stroke is what it should have been or this brush stroke is not what it should have been and it will alter the painting accordingly like a human would do," said RHIT student Josh Crook.

The robot will be judged on both its technical and artistic abilities. Prizes total $100,000.

The creator of the "Robot Art" contest wrote the book "Rise of the Robots." He says his goal is to support education and humanize technology.

The deadline to turn in the robot artwork is April 15, 2016.
