Yes interesting. I think her pick is quite good, but a lot depends on what you aim to program. Like if I were making an AAA video game I probably wouldn't need a whole lot of PHP in there.

Javascript though, yes, that's a biggy and will likely remain so as it's used so extensively on the web. I used to hate JS when I first started with it, but over the years it has evolved and I enjoy coding in it these days.

Python is quite simple I agree. With barely any previous knowledge I was able to put together a useful 3D Max plugin to export OBJ models for Haptek. A long time ago now. Things like Blender use it and that's where my interest was at the time.

Mostly these days I just do web design and apps, so PHP, JS are my weapons of choice. But for making games I like Unity and C#.

The thing about programming is that it's not limiting - once you understand common concepts, you can get on in most languages. C++ is a bit of a pig though lol.

So I would choose my poison based on what kinds of apps I like to program.
