Came across this site and thought it interesting enough to post here. It would seem
that a lot of companies are trying to get a foothold on the mobile market with the
application of virtual characters. Some look a lot like MS Agent characters but they
can use a variety of TTS voices.

They're pretty cute. Using Java is probably the way forward too - downloading the Haptek player was a big problem in some people's books. Tried the Eliza bot, doesn't work in Chrome but works fine in IE. These would be nice for AIML bots. Good find!

If I am understanding well...can one use a downloadable java applet (from their site) which containes an avatar that can speak and lip synch according to text inputted to the applet by java script? I have tried lookig for info on the website but could not understanding anything. Have you implemeted a java based avatar of this sort? If so, would you provide me with a downloadable applet that can handle the lip synch and tts?
