Title: Daz 3D + Iclone - I need a chatbot avatar
Post by: Sybershot on February 24, 2014, 08:38:11 pm
Hello all,
I'm wanting to create a speaking avatar with  lip syncing for my chatbot Quantum which uses the program-o chatbot engine, and an introductory video for the websites main page. The character I want to use I created with Daz 3D and I been looking into how to implement her within my chatbot besides just using a static rendered image. I want to bring her to life so to speak without spending an arm and a leg or paying monthly or yearly fees for services. As far as I know this leaves me creating a way to get the desired affect.

although a lot of work, I'm thinking of creating pre-recorded video responses. This will stop me from using a lot of aiml features, but I'm okay with that for this project.

I have done a bit of homework and came across IClone pro, This looks like a solid choice and best choice for pre-recorded video responses route. However I'm not sure if IClone pro alone is capable of this task or if I would need one of there bundle packs.

What I would need IClone pro to do:
1: import a Daz 3D character
2: lip sync via text to speech utilizing a ivona voice which I have on my system
3: character animation within a scene for intro video - thinking Kinect motion capture would be great but not needed.
4: render in a video format

can IClone pro do all this by itself or would I need a bundle also If I need a bundle which one would I need.

Any knowledge, suggestions and or or input would be greatly appreciated Thanks Sincerely Sybershot

I think Claude might be a good source since that is his main game.

I also thought that Poser / Daz had a decent LipSinc plugin a couple of years back.

Lastly, there was some talking heads (3D thing) that also had a lipsinc program but unfortunately it's name escapes me at this moment. (then again, a lot of things do!).

Good luck.

Thanks Art, you are correct Daz does have lip sync capability but it is subpar to IClone's quality.
IClone specialize in fast facial and body animation.

I have looked at vids of both and with IClone one can definitely see the difference in realism.
