Clipping hap
« on: January 04, 2008, 03:45:38 pm »
Did you ever back your gal up and she disappear before you got her where you want her?

With this hap you can set the clipping distance of the haptar.
The back clip on this example hap is 1000. Drop the hap on her and back her up as much as you like. If you have to, you can increase the 1000.
Also means you can put a small haptar in a background you have for your gal.
Heck, put couple girls in there. She probably like the company.

Here's the hap:

#Haptek Version= 1.00 HapType= command FileType= text

\setname [figure= body_female name= fullBod]

\Camera [name= FrontClip f0= 4]
\Camera [name= BackClip f0= 1000]
\Camera [name=FOV f0= 45]

When too small, they get cute.   ;)

If you want to put the clip-distance in a script,
you can just put this one line in:
\Camera [name= BackClip f0= 1000]

Enjoy.  :)

This is sweet! So if I understand correctly if I want to use this script with the body_female.htr I just change the line:

\setname [figure= body_female name= fullBod]

to:

\setname [figure= body_female name= body_female]

 ???

That should do it James yeah (to my limited hap knowledge hehe), but always remember that a lot of haps/switches do not work well with 'jiggly' :)

The camera can be controlled at any time, you wouldn't need to change any figure names, you can just do :

\Camera [name= FrontClip f0= 4]
\Camera [name= BackClip f0= 2000]
\Camera [name=FOV f0= 50]

..or whatever you like.  It will work just the same regardless of any figures in the scene.

I was trying to get the "psycho" hap to work but Jiggly won't have it. I am going to try a few other things but I'm not holding my breathe. I am intrigued with the camera settings I'm looking forward to playing with them.

Maviarab ,
One of the reasons I choose to use fullbody rather than boey_female was because of the larger number of haps that fullbody would accept.  I learned that the Heading in the hap determines what character the Hap is made for, changing the heading from fullbody to Body female allows body female to accept it.  Done quite a bit of changing and can not recall any that body female will not accept, ??
