So, what's a HAP file anyway?

.hap files are used by the haptek player to control the 3D character. They can trigger emotions, animations, moods, lights and all the rest of it.

You'll find many standard hap files inside the folders of the haptek program, but people have modified and built their own too.

The hap files are written in Hapteks hypertext script, this is a small set of instructions that are used to pass parameters to the Haptek player. In practice this can be quite difficult to make work, as each character has it's own definition file which may differ to others.

To test a hap file you can simply drag the hap onto the player screen and the player will activate that hap.

Ultra Hal uses hap files to control the character's emotions from within the brain script.

For more information consult Haptek Manuals or Docs' guide and reference manual here in our help section.
