Not me...I'm waiting till they iron out all the bugs.  I've read a lot of negative comments about Vista and the vagueness of it's licence and use, which I will want to get to the bottom of before I change too.  I think people were using Haptek & UltraHal ok with Vista, I know it was one of the topics over at Zabaware.  As far as I am aware it works ok, but perhaps a visit to Zaba's forum will tell you more.

Haptek say:
Quote
The Haptek player will actually work in Vista if you turn off the User Control for the OS or Protected Mode for Internet Explorer such that its once again able to unpack files into the Haptek directory (security feature of Vista).  There will be a future release of the player that properly addresses the new Vista security.
Quote
its not an install issue.  The Haptek player itself is attempting to unpack streamed down files during execution for some types of data into a temporary directory in a place where Vista no longer wants it to for security purposes.  Consequently it doesn't work in some circumstances unless the security is turned off. Can't really say when another version of PP will be released.  You'll have to check back periodically.

See http://community.haptek.com/index.php?topic=14.0

The Haptek Player uses C:\Program Files\Haptek\Player\hap_temp for unpacking .htr or .haptar files from the Internet, which Vista seeks to forbid

I agree with Freddy up above.
Many applications have not yet updated to vista and you may find a couple of your favorites won't work for the time being.
Unless necessary to get vista now, I would wait til late 2008.
Most updates and bugs should be worked out by then.

Everyone,
Thanks for posting this,  Using Vista and I'm having problems with the Haptek player,  I'd like to put in some other software before trying to put in Hal.  I should try to see if this machine will dual boot and put in XP.

Wow Carl, you've been gone a long time!  Good to see you back, hope you are well  :)

Personally I am doing the same as Duskrider and waiting till at least the end of the year to even think about using Vista.  One of my concerns is that because Vista is power hungry it will slow my PC down - and if XP is just fine then why try and fix something thats's not broken.
