Haptek Player for Windows 7
« on: February 26, 2013, 09:52:59 pm »
Is there a Haptek Player available for Windows 7 machines? I tried the player at haptek.com but it crashes on install.

GLB2BF0.tmp has stopped working.

Steve,

It does work as far as the Player goes but it is STILL flaky when used on a Win7 machine in the UltraHal GUI where it is extremely slow to respond and jerky.

I think a former Zabaware member, Rich_A did a fix for the player to allow for smoother movements within the Player window but not the UltraHal window.
(Rich_A also put together the HalOSI program that allows the full-bodied character to "walk about" and other visualizations.

Haptek is reportedly working on a new version that IS Windows 7 & 8 compliant but I've heard nothing in that regard to date.

Thanks Art, I couldn't even get the player to install even in compatibility mode.

I'd sent it to you Steve but It's 4.9 megs on disk!

I'm not sure whether there might be any .dll's or other system files in there as well.

Have you tried the following:

1. If Haptek Player is already running, press CTRL+Shift+ESC to bring up the Task Manager.
2. Find HapAXPlayer.exe (or iexplore.exe if running in a web browser) in the processes tab
3. Right-click the program and go to Set Affinity…
4. Uncheck all the CPUs except 1 of them
5. Enjoy Haptek running at normal speed!

Very good news compatibility. Since Xp and Vista, haptek is stuck in XP version. Well adapted to the technical Haptek, to the evolutionary version. But Zabaware, will systematically corrected, integration, Windows7 player. Haptek, could also predict new motions for character. But I remember, composition, motion, can be created by a generator, moving, and sales. This is an ideal program for interactivity to a Web page.
