I just wish the clint link still worked :(

I agree, dan. With the Google cache, we can see that http://people.haptek.com/ contained some very interesting things. But definitely disappeared a long time ago.   (:( too)

I remember seeing some things Clint made with multiple heads,  something like nine of them in one player.   Amazingly it worked on my old PC which was not particularly fast.  So yes I agree it seems that some useful things have gone forever.

  Glad to see you've registered there, maybe we can have some influence at Haptek.  Clint also had a website before he left Haptek but didn't spent much time answering questions.  The multiple heads was good, it's covered in the Hap Guide and from the videos out I can see it's being used by other people with full body characters or the torsos.

Hi Carl2, welcome on that new forum (now 24 members/60 posts!). I read your post and I hope they'll listen to you. Why not? When I sent my first post, they did what I asked them to do, less than two days later. I still can't believe it!

But when I started my little experiments with several characters in one Haptek window, after reading this thread (many thanks to Dr.Benway) http://zabaware.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=2271, I was very disappointed not to find the Clint folder (I never saw it).

So wait and see.  :)

GT40,
   I saw your name and an answer,  I posted some comments but no reply yet.
I followed your link, I like the look at mouse but was unable to find a hap for it on the hard drive.  As I mentioned the multiple characters are covered in the SDK,  I was using fullbody girl and changed to body female, after making the changes in the frist few lines of the hap files thay work for body female.

Hi Carl2,

Yes, on that new forum, I asked a second question but, like all of us, still waiting for an answer. I noticed that the (few) members are now speaking together (maybe it was the goal).

I only use the look at mouse on my bots, to make them more "alive and human". It's not provided by a hap but by a JS script, a file named MouseVu.js. You can load it in a HTML page:

<head>
<script language="JavaScript" src="MouseVu.js"></script>
</head>

If you drag and drop that file in the Haptek player, the character only reads the embedded script!

About the multiple characters, the only information I found in the Haptek Guide is relating to the \SetName and \SetPerson commands (many thanks to Freddy who showed me the way to follow). But when I read the Dr.Benway HowTo (the previous zaba link), using the default head (embedded in the player), I began to guess that it was not so evident!

If you read the sources and haps of my little videos and skits, sometimes you can see strange (empirical) things. But it works. Now I can make scenes with several characters (head, torso, fullbody, mixed), and they move and speak. But every new movie is an adventure. Sometimes, I spend a lot of time to implant them in the same windows (e.g. no problem with four torso_female or more, but too much wasted time when I added a torso_male, no sexual allusion!).

Tell me if you want some details. But not about Hal, I don't use it.
