Title: Animatronic Head
Post by: frankinstien on July 15, 2020, 06:22:51 pm
I've been looking for an opensource sophisticated animatronic head, something like:

Disney (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bFU9Qg_6EsY)

I did find an interesting DIY mouth, which to me is the most import part of the head, but I'm not sure if it's opensource or even available to the public, it is 3D printed.

DiY (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ke2lJfY4haM)

You'll notice the number of servos to make the mouth form words in both the Disney animatronic head and the DIY mouth. Anybody know of a publicly available 3D file that is this sophisticated?

Not open source, but perhaps it could serve as a model.  :2funny:

Found one! (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4130615)  :D Well at least it's a start. The author of the head is using a Nano-Jetson and the head can see. I do have a Jetson-Xavier which has a bit more horsepower. The expression on the head need some work and the servo freedom appears to be limited so some tweaking is needed. Also, the mouth doesn't have the 12 degrees of freedom needed to form words.
