Title: RIP Windows Phone
Post by: Zero on December 15, 2017, 12:16:49 pm
So... Windows Phone is dead (https://techcrunch.com/2017/10/09/this-is-not-a-drill-microsoft-admits-windows-phone-is-dead-for-real/). Microsoft's pulling the plug, it's official.

I own a Windows Phone, and I really like it. It's a 535, with "Microsoft" written on it. I already feel like driving an elegant antique car! I'll keep it until I die, and mention it in my testament. It will live forever in my family...  ;D

Beyond the "betrayal", it's sad because we now have only two alternatives for smartphones: google or apple. Monopole is a bad news, globally speaking.

Big business not nimble enough to stay in the game.
Big big business is about the keeping old gang together to fight of rivals or and change. Keep the job simply until retirement.

Windows Phone was a lot like Radio Shack...

They come out with the latest greatest thing, according to their marketing geniuses, about a year after other companies have had the same type product already on the market. Yeah...too little...too late.

Go big or Go home!! Rest In Pieces!

Rest In Pieces  ;D

Perhaps... Instead of going hardware with Nokia (http://fortune.com/2015/07/08/was-microsoft-nokia-deal-a-disaster/), they should have gone open source with Mono (http://www.mono-project.com/), and software only.

Does any of you own a Windows Phone?
