Wonder how it is that Magnetism is classed as a Weak Force when the entire Earth is a giant Magnet? (North & South Poles). Hmm...
Perhaps it was just for Comic effect and not Cosmic effect! :2funny:

It's only weak by comparison. The Strong Force is what holds elementary particles together, IIRC.

Also, any force can be powerful if you have it in sufficient quantity. The relative strength/weakness of the forces expresses how much generating matter you need to get a given effect. Or something like that.

I thought gravity was a weak force - easily demonstrated by a magnet 'beating' it.

But yes I seem to recall that about particles being strong forces. Long while since I did Physics...
