Title: Service Robots - human replacements?
Post by: Art on April 01, 2018, 03:51:41 pm
While most of these work well with the exception of maybe the clothes picking one, the companies claim the robots are helping humans to be able to do other things.
Seems to me that we're soon going to run out of those "other jobs" for humans.

I can't seem to find it now, but a few years ago all I could find is that Star Trek economic system was called something like Utopian socialism or Post capitalism. Now they're calling it post-scarcity?

Another futuristic alternative to capitalism is a "Resource Based Economy" aka "The Venus Project" (https://www.thevenusproject.com/). It's extremely AI-dependent compared to post-scarcity.
