Title: 3D HoloPlayer

Quite an interesting perspective (no pun) from this device.

Have a look: https://www.chonday.com/30095/halointe6/ (https://www.chonday.com/30095/halointe6/)

I wonder if it's the same technique as the build your own - where you make a pyramid of plastic and rest it on the phone's display.

I was going to make something like this with an old monitor but never got around to it.

I opened a box of graham crackers the other day...it was empty.

I was left with a box of hollow grahams. ;)

This is the only true hologram technology I've seen so far. It uses focused infrared lasers to create points of ionized, light-emitting plasma in the air. The first time I heard of it was back at CES 2011 from a Japanese company. Looks like they've made a bigger version in 2014 and a smaller version in 2015 that apparently you can touch and produces a tactile sensation. Not sure why this technology isn't being put to use right now though. Must be cost prohibitive.

Why? Because one slip up and they ionize the audience instead of the air.

If you read the fine print at the bottom of the second article it describes how they have to limit the laser bursts to quadrillionths of a second. Their experiments showed that a two second burst from one of those lasers can set a pig on fire.

This hologram is projected on tinted perspex sheets that surround the stage.

In this video they are visible only briefly towards the end.

There's always room for Cortana in 3D...isn't there?

Reminds me of the video game in Star Wars that Chewbacca & C-3PO played. Chewbacca loved it. Here's a good review:
