Title: Making videos
Post by: unreality on April 19, 2018, 08:23:11 pm
Does anyone have experience making videos? I just downloaded VSDC. It looks like it has a bit of a learning curve.

I spent over an over just looking for a common creative (free open source) image that represents neural networking. So far it’s a disappointment. This is the best common creatives one I found. I wanted something that shows it's complexity.

I'd love to use images like these, but they don't show up as open source.

Try graphviz if you haven't already. It lets you write the definitions for complex diagrams like those and then it does the heavy lifting. Like anything else worth doing it takes a while to learn but it is most definitely worth the effort.

Thanks. There's some intro videos on youtube. Looks powerful & flexible. I'm not sure it's worth learning for this video that probably won't get more than 20 views.

I like the name Sierra for my AGI. When looking up the tallest trees in the world on WikiPedia it shows giant sequoia trees, which is also known as the Sierra redwoods. Although when you lookup the meaning for the name Sierra, it says Dark. I don't think Dark is a good start for AGI. Since the AGI is based on Tree searching I kind of like the name Sierra. Disappointing.

Moving on, somehow I came across the name Eva. Cool name. Very similar to Ava, the name of the synthetic in Ex Machina. The name Eva means Life. Nice start for AGI :)

Idk, maybe I spend way too much time on this kind of stuff, but when you make a video about it, even a short one, you need to call it something besides It.

... Also I like the name Alice for AGI, but ... well, you know lol. I'm sure everyone here's seen the Resident Evil movies. Ever since watching Resident Evil I've always thought Alice was a cool name for AI.

I just wrote the above in PHP.  Wonder if I need
a neural network to map out the connections?

You might also consider the name of SEQ, as in Sequoia, again going back to your Tree reference and sounding like the word, SEEK as in searching and lastly SEQ as in Sequence, which is what it ultimately does.

SEQ and ye shall find! (had to throw that last one in there).

Either way, good luck!

Clever short name. Sequ could be the male version and Seqy the female version. Hey Seqy girl. LOL

8pla.net, that gave me the idea to just spend 10 minutes in MFC to draw it. Before doing it, does anyone object to the following image representing neural networking? Albeit an overly simplified network. Also I see no need for the arrows.

In MFC I can make the circles a lot smaller, and thus show a more complex neural network.

Just wrote this in PHP too.
Colors shuffle upon refresh.
Fun to try to figure out.

NOTE: This is a test run,
for discussion purposes.

Cool. Even the bg color changes. Good old server side PHP! I don't know why google even went with python.
