Title: Automata, the series
Post by: infurl on June 15, 2018, 02:06:33 am
The first in a very promising "free" sci-fi drama series with some names you might recognise. Extra points for spotting the voice talent behind Halo's Cortana. Not sure if you would call this Post Steampunk or pre Ray Gun Gothic, but the ambience is marvellous.

The opening music sounds akin to the opening soundtrack in Westworld. Technologically Eerie or Spooky.

The opening scene with what appears to be a robotic bartender seems "borrowed" from the movie, Passengers.

Written and Directed by Van Alan. (Allen) Didn't he have a 'Radiation Belt'? ;)

I liked the time frame and the overall setting and concept. It looks to be quite an engaging series, one of which I will be sure to watch.

Just as a side note: The Dust collection of films, some amateur and others semi-pro to pro grade productions all of which I have found to be enjoyable, engaging or thought-provoking...possibly all of the above.
There are in the neighborhood of 205 of them with more being added each week. I have listed and viewed them all. (so I don't repeat ;) )

I didnt watch much of it,  but I hope there is a scene or i prefer to have in the movie lots of cool engineering details,  is what im interested in.   Even if it was pretty far fetched and fairly loosely based on reality, i would still prefer to see it,  rather than this "robot dating service" stuff...   :-*

I most enjoyed the rotary analog.
