Upcoming Robot Movie List
The Swirling Brain's Robot & Sci-Fi Upcoming Movie List!
Well, it's time again for The Swirling Brain's upcoming Robot (&
Sci-Fi)
robot movie news! This year there seems to be more robot movies than
ever. Here it is late summer and still it seems there are bunches of sci-fi
and robotic sci-fi movies still yet to be seen! Let's see what's left for
this year's robot movies!
Videos and swirling comments after the jump...

There are some really good-looking movies on that list, especially District 9 (which unfortunately I didn't get the chance to watch yet), 9, and Avatar. Seems like a good time for sci-fi :)
-
I'll probably be staying away from "9". Having read the plot synopsis and considering that it seems geared towards kids, I can only conclude that it is anti-science, anti-government brainwashing propaganda.
-
I like the look of most of them. I like Tim Burton myself so I will try and catch 9. Also Avatar has already caught my eye and Surrogates looks good too.
Yes a good time for Sci-Fi, it was a bit bare at the beginning of this year.

Anything anti-gov gets my vote :)
Some interesting ones there, avatar certainly looks like it will be worth watching.
-
Mav,
Wasn't that you in the cloak? You dropped your dagger! Heh! ;)
-
Surrogates airs in theaters today!

Interesting story about how Avatar is not as popular as you might think :

It's still pretty popular though really.

Interesting but I really don't care what appeals to the masses...I care what appeals to me.
After all, I am the recipient. There are numerous movies within my personal DVD collection
that I absolutely enjoy even if the vast majority of them would not appeal to 60% of my neighbors
or associates at work.
My likes are mine and I really don't give two hoots whether someone else like it or not.
Having said that, it's obvious that I wouldn't make a very good movie producer.
(then again...you guessed it...I really don't care.) :D

True, I've never really worried what the masses think. But regarding Avatar, I've seen all the hype, seen the trailers and it's not really grabbing my attention. I'm not fussed if I see it, I think I will wait until it comes out on video - we don't have any IMAX cinemas around here either, so I would miss out on the 3D thing.
-
I'd like to see it regardless of the 3D thing (I think the 3D thing tends to be somewhat overrated).
The SyFy (formerly Sci-Fi) channel recently aired Caprica which is actually the prequel to BattleStar
Galactica and the Cylon Warriors.
I had no idea how a young girl genius who created a virtual clone and gave it all her thoughts, memories
and emotions would one day, become an implanted device inside a formidable robot. That robot is the
first Cylon Warrior.
Good Stuff.
This year we see (or will see) Sanctuary, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Caprica and many more great, imaginitive and inspiring shows.
Until then...keep dreaming!
