Robo Chat Challenge is an inaugural contest held for participating chat bots from all over the globe, the contest has no registration fee and you can register and enhance your chances of winning US $1500 by participating and competing with all the other chat bots.
The Last Date of Registration for Bot Masters to enroll their Chat Bots is November 25, 2012.

If you like we can add a banner here on the right hand side of the forum with the others. Preferably square and 200 x 200 pixels in size. You can go longer, but for layout reasons the 200px width is required.

My old (I mean, from the Windows 98 era) Haptek-Pandorabot Meghan was so excited (I guess, by the $1500) that she didn't read the rules. And you know what? Ooops!!!

What if one bot wins the Most Popular and Best Personality category and another is best at being teachable and knowledgeable,
how will a winner be decided?
Will there ultimately be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place for contestants?
Will there be available for posting, chatlogs of the various contestants during the judging (showing judges questions and bots' responses) as well as the final transcripts?
Sorry for the questions but most of these are standard for contests of this type and in light of this I was merely seeking some clarification in this regard.

We would like to tell all the registrants to Enter Proper Links of their respective chat bots and if their chat bot is a Desktop Application, then please email the ".EXE" file at contact[at]robochatchallenge[dot]com or make it available on a proper domain so we can download it from there, as the number is increasing and the time is running by and since we have to evaluate lots of entries, therefore we do not have the time to assess the entries again and again.

Thanks for posting an update.
Since it has been 57 days since your last post, a lot of people thought the contest was a hoax and rightfully so.
During things like this, people who are fans of chatbots and AI in general, like and need to be kept informed.
We'd love to be able to view chatbot logs showing conversation of the finalists if at all possible and how the
winning bot was selected.

I agree Freddy and I also wonder how that was even allowed to happen. Could a person vote MORE THAN ONCE?? I never tried but just now thought of it.
Contact all your friends on facebook and have them all vote and tell their friends to vote...etc., etc.
I certainly hope the "Judges" DO NOT use any of the voting results in the formulation of their final selection(s).
Why would such a contest even offer a "Voting" section if it didn't matter anyway?!
There are still a lot of unanswered questions in this whole affair! Obviously not much experience in organizing or running a contest, IMHO. I've been around chatbots since Eliza appeared in BASIC for homebuilt computers and have never seen the likes of this!!

At this point, we are fighting out with time and some other issues simultaneously, and it is not possible to share the transcripts immediately but we are looking into this matter very keenly. But above all, we would like to pay a vote of thanks to all the chat bots that participated and make the competition interesting to some extent.
The Robo Chat Challenge results have nothing to do with the Audience Poll, it was just general a general poll and if people abused it, it was their fault and falsified manipulation and we have ignored the Poll results.
One point, we didn't mention above was that we were more focused on chatbots[dot]org forum, as there is much more fan following than here on this thread, and we also didn't get the desired response. Please don't take this in a negative manner, it was our intuition and we just wanted to share the clear picture.
All the best to the members and think tank of this forum, keep up the good work!

I linked to the stage where we were trying to establish if transcripts will be published and also why some of the bots did not appear to have been visited by any judges.

I see the audience poll is back up on the site and it still includes the bots that didn't make it through, shouldn't they be removed from the poll?
What is the point of people voting for a bot to win the contest when the bot is not even in the contest?

Mainly due to some unavoidable issues that needed our attention.

As we already mentioned previously, the audience poll was only to get the general perspective about the participating bots and it had nothing to do with the competition results.

I have to say that I have been one of the sceptics with regard to this competition, however, it is rather pleasing to hear that one of our own has won.
It would be interesting to learn how long it takes for your winnings to arrive and what method of payment is adopted, if that's OK with you Squarebear and I'm not being too personal.

I have yet to receive one single shiny penny from this, despite 4 months of sending several emails and assurances of payment from them.
Just a heads up in case they organize another one of these next year and anyone enters thinking they will get a chance of winning money. I use the term “organize†loosely.

The competition did smell funny from the start so it doesn't totally surprise me that the winnings haven't turned up.
Just don't give them any of you credit or bank details but I know you know that.

I just received an email from Paypal saying that someone had deposited $1,500 into my account. Sure, I thought, another one my spam filter didn’t pick up but hang on a minute, this one mentions me by name and hovering over the link reveals the genuine Paypal site. Curiosity got the better of me and I logged into Paypal to find $1,500 and a message: “Hi Steve, This payment is for the prize money of Cronus Bot Tournament. Thanks and regards, Akhtar Saeed Hashmiâ€
I take it all back. This was a wonderful, well run competition and I look forward to taking part again in the next one. ;)

I know. What with this and the Loebner Prize money, I've earned more in the last few weeks than I have done in nearly 2 months at work! If every month was like this, I could give up my job and work on Mitsuku full time.
I plan on going to Bletchley Park next year whether or not I make the finals. If you come along, I'll buy you a coffee and a slice of cake in the cafe there. O0
