Nice... The golden look reminds me of C3-PO, a tad bit creepy though.
Are you planning on making his mouth move in accordance to some TTS engine?
-
Nicely done :)
What material is it made of ?
-
That's cool. I'm interested in how you made it too. Thanks for the thanks :)

After studying a full screen view, and based on the amount of blue light coming from the eyes and nostrils, I think it's more of a mask than an enclosed head per se, with the lower jaw / mouth portion hinged and worked via hobby servo(s). Another tip was that we were never presented with a side view.
Could certainly be developed and fitted into a lot more devices, servos and sensors, as the user wishes. Very nicely done! O0
Perhaps this is how C3PO got a start!;)

Due to a turning point, I may be offline for awhile.
Data asked, "What material is it made of?"
Then Freddy followed up, "I'm interested in how you made it too."
... Perhaps, enough material for a new video tutorial!
Art mentioned, "I think it's more of a mask than an enclosed head per se"
... Some of what you reverse engineered sounds intriguing.
Would you all be so kind as to help me keep this thread alive?

I am sorry to report, there's been a major setback
in this project. The Home Made Robot Head just died
on me, shortly after the making of the video.
At first, the robot showed some signs of life. So,
I disassembled it to try to save it. Then, other
parts broke, and continued like a domino effect.
It became apparent that I just couldn't save it.
I may have shortened the life of its robot circuitry,
by inadvertently overheating it. Perhaps a short
circuit or some damage burnt out its electronics.
In any case, I don't plan to reuse any of these worn out,
broken robot parts. In the meantime, I have ordered
new parts, to build an all new Home Made Robot Head.

A plastic mask ain't gonna be robust enough for long term animatronics ...
Have you tried PolyMorph? I use all the time for my projects... excellent stuff... :D

You made an electro-mechanical joint.
Excellent. Because I just worked out, thats almost all a robot is, just guided joints.
