Title: Robot and Buddy
Post by: Art on March 25, 2015, 09:10:37 pm
I didn't know whether to post this in Friday Funnies or Robotics!

It kind of brings to mind the old "Robots against humans" theme, but this is all in good fun.

This is InMoov, the 3D Printed robot that's Open Source, and the robotic arm ("Buddy").

Good stuff! The robot is receiving a wide global following of others printing their own robots and exchanging information, parts and ideas on how to make it better than it is. This one is worth following.

Interesting! Wonder if they have any real A.I. on them, though.

I have recently been working on a generalized algorithm, one that does not mimic human evolutionary instinct yet a general concept of evolution and personality formation. If it works, I could have fun putting it on different platforms and making them intelligent, rather then requiring a specific set of capabilities (sensors and configuration). This would range from a very basic laptop to any sensor-bundled robot.

I have also been looking to make myself a 3D - printer so I could print some parts and make a robot much like the humanoid in the video. Except due to expenses he would probably only have a head and one arm.

Having a workshop filled with robotoids such as these (and artificially intelligent) is a dream come true!

Heck...why wait? Just send in your resume to General Dynamics / Google / M.I.T. Robotics Lab, then every day at work would be like a kid on a playground!! (provided you obviously get hired). O0

Somehow I think I would feel much more 'filled' and warmer in heart if I just had a private place, something like a messy, wooden garage / toolshed... Maybe it is due to what I have seen in my childhood, but it is what it is. My needs in life are few - maybe I want to make a big contribution and invent something big and revolutionary, but out of my home I only want a cozy cabin and a happy world.
