Facebook Researchers did not "shut down a rogue AI"
« on: August 05, 2017, 07:07:35 pm »
Hey, what is up guys! I hope that you're doing well.

As you know, much of the AI research community is face-palming about some of the media accounts of a recent paper from FAIR (Facebook AI Research). No! Facebook researchers did not "shut down a rogue AI" because it had developed a non-English language to communicate with another AI agent. I've made a video to explain this overhyped event to people. The purpose of my videos is to demystify AI, machine learning, and deep learning. AI is about to transform society, and I think it's important for people to understand the basics of it. I also hope that my videos will inspire students, and perhaps get them interested in this fascinating topic. Here it is, I hope that you will like it. Any critics, feedback about it is highly appreciated  :)

Yes I saw this silly news story on The Telegraph's site (UK newspaper) and it was ridiculous. My chatbot is closer to taking over the world  ;D

In the video, language suggests a message to decipher.
Yet, the action is that BOB made the first move on ALICE.
Seems ALICE rejects BOB and holds out for a better deal.

BOB changes from "I CAN I" to "YOU".  And, ALICE changes
from "ZERO" and "TO" to "A BALL".

LANGUAGE DATA
BOB: "I CAN I", "I EVERTHING ELSE"
ALICE: "BALLS HAVE", "ZERO",   "TO ME (8 times)", "TO"
BOB: "YOU",     "I EVERTHING ELSE"
ALICE: "BALLS HAVE", "A BALL", "TO ME (8 times)", ""

Rough Translation:
CAN I EVERYTHING ELSE WITH YOU ALICE?
ZERO CHANCE TO HAVE A BALL WITH ME, BOB
YOU CAN HAVE EVERYTHING ELSE I HAVE, ALICE?
HAVE A BALL WITH ME, BOB.

General media is pretty painful concerning AI news by now. Who isn't sick of reading skynet jokes?
