Stand out
« on: April 24, 2018, 06:47:32 pm »
Do you really want to stand out in a crowd? Or perhaps...not so much.
Tired of being tracked? Now you can hide/shelter your true identity in a public crowd.

Just assume this guy's identity...

Wearing a burka would accomplish the same thing without being so creepy. Yes wearing a burka is creepy but this is double plus creepy.

Wearing a burka would accomplish the same thing without being so creepy. Yes wearing a burka is creepy but this is double plus creepy.

The point is, in some places the wearing of a burka is prohibited and also easily spotted whereas this prosthetic facial mask is easily detectable by facial recognition systems. They do, however, assume it to be the face of its creator/inventor. That should cause a bit of digital confusion.

Most men do not wear burkas either...I think. ;)

My first thought was, "Well the AI might not identify you, but you'd draw human notice to yourself like a flashing police light."

On looking at the pictures, though, I see that's a surprisingly realistic mask, and not nearly as glaring as I'd expected.  You'd have to get up close to notice the creepy sunken eyes, and in a crowd, most people might not be paying that much attention.

Yes, I think it was in the creator/artist's mind to go a step beyond that mask used in the 2005 movie V for Vendetta, in which he used hundreds, if not more, Guy Fawkes masks as a protest.

Just a thought.
