Redundunduncy...
« on: December 18, 2018, 06:22:01 am »
I get that all digital files degrade over time, that's kinda sad. The internet has so many wonderful things that might die a slow death and be lost forever. All things that might be used to store films or audio will degrade. I came up with this idea to save data. Say you have a media file saved in a hard drive, make say 100 copies of each bit of information, write a program that will go through the file every so often (once a month or year),  what it should do is look at each group of 100 bits and convert them all to the state of the majority. Tada! I guess if you're desperate you can do the same "refurbishing" by comparing a large number of degrading files. Structuring memory in this redundant way should also be great for AI. If multiple cores need to access the same bit of memory there isn't a bottleneck and you can have parallel processing.

Lol. No need to worry, Lock has this all covered. Since day one I got on the computer at like 12, I've been saving anything that's worthwhile. So all is fine. Probably not. But hey, I got a lot of good stuff saved and backed up. I got all the best music, anime and scenery pictures, videos, knowledge, etc. Anything that's good, is on MY pc. Haha!! OK, there is some anime videos I never saved. And what about what I didn't see!? And what about what wasn't filmed/created or filmed/documented poorly or shared or... No but seriously, it's not a problem, in my utopia heaven of ASI we will re-make it all over again probably a billion times and more. You'll see sandy brown again and Ralph certainty. But in the meantime, everybody does have all that stuff you can find right now saved, and backed up, a good amount of it is backed up I believe, even saved on other peoples drives not just thee creators. When ASI comes, it will all get immortalized. And finally, I already have that software you seek. You make hashes. Hmm I think your idea is better actually. However I don't do it anymore, I just hope to god it all there, and back t up, but i should get a 4th backup, 1 is crappy old and the other is fine, and, there is many copies of the same stuff. There's a good chance that 2 HDDs holding your data is pretty secure, hence more=even more safe. Of course I always backup everyday to my email service my frikinsuperimortant notes. And, our brains have redundancy - each column is just a freaking redundant clump so if 1 neuron dies the memory doesn't. Sure invariants accept different kinds but you also need specifics stored so no columns shouldn't be invariants. Can a sentence node reconstruct if the dog is a certain type of dog yes...Can a paragraph node reconstruct if this sentence node was sentence a or b? Yes... But at the highest node it fails. You can compute/store clusters/invariants each time or once using the net data stored as is no representations.

SUPER USEFUL TOOLS HAHAHAHA

When you replace your HDD, clone it and pull it out and stuff it in the closet as a backup.

Save it on a cave wall, the way the cavemen did over 35,000 years ago.

Print your writing, images, and movies. As 1s & 0s. And store them in a national vault in Canada.

Hey do you think there is compressed data in videos, not in a government conspiracy subliminal messaging way, but is there enough implied information in a 2d video for a dedicated AI to convert it to 3d?

Yes it already exists. You can find real-time 2D to 3D on Two Minute Papers youtube channel.

One thing I should start doing again is editing 2 of the same text file, that way i check them every so often and if 1 is diff then something wrong.

Humans do it all the time so it's definitely possible.

Imagine the future, you take a super small blurry B&W old pic of someone, SR it, colorize it, GAN it, predict video, predict 3D world from that, etc, then make it walk out lol.

In a sense, I guess it's like this. Given info, and have a tonnn of info, u can expand your info usingwhat you know. Hence in the future you can see what's in a 13x13 B&W pic and expand it to a full 3D blocks movies in super HD & frame rate and music etc...

knowledge that supports other knowledge....reduncdddyyyyy

Lock will tell you upfront, the best Superresolution program I know of atm is Let's Enhance. It only gives you x4 size where x4 looks watery a bit and so it's more like x2. There's also a simple program that requires video and is somewhat as pumpful hence x2 size? And GANS idk if it can or just variants and it may have a max but I no have access.
