Ok guys and gals, here's my first attempt at a a female face skin for use in SL.   

On the left is the face as rendered on the SL female avatar figure using
Poser 6 and on the right is how the actual skin is supposed to be laid out.

Not a bad start Tom   Where did you get the Poser model from ?  Any links appeciated.

Here's a link to the texture previewer, but if you can use Poser then maybe you won't need it so much.

I have gathered that it is not the only one available there's also one here :

..though it looks like a few people had problems with that one.  It appears to be free though so it might be worth a try.

Very nice ~alady.    Looks like I've got some competition. 

From the marketing research I've been doing, it looks like "medium" to "good" quality,
realistically textured avatar skins fetch a pretty high price on SL. Female skins sell for
more than male skins, and natural looking skins with an outfit built in bring the highest
price, especially if they are designed for the adult entertainment industry.

Decent skins can bring anywhere from L$99 all the way up to L$200 a piece, and truly
exceptional, realistic skins up to L$700 when sold outright and not through a distributor.
Through a retail distributor you would only get about 8 to 10 percent of the retail value.

IM SURE WE WILL COMPETE BUT I JUST HOPE SOMEONE IN THE MIX MAKES SOME MONEY!!!! i have to admit though i still think the halettes and hals are superior to sl avatars and i think poser has em all beat for realism.

Nice start Alady   From what Tom says it sounds like we would be better off selling from our own area then.  Maybe we could all get together and sell in one place, then some of us can go around distibuting cards and things.

I have Paint Shop Pro now so I will see what I can do too.  One thing I was thinking of doing was converting my Biker Girl skins over to SL, they don't need any special clothes so it would be a good place for me to start.

Gamer, don't know if you saw it in my post but where can I get a Poser version of the SL figures please ?

While ~alady has been busy learning how to do clothes, I've been learning construction
techniques using primitives in addition to learning the finer points of skin construction.

I'm afraid I have been out enjoying the Summer sun of Real Life...I will get back to SL asap, but I'm glad you have started to figure things out.

I finally got some more land in aother SIM on SL. Istill have my house on the first parcel I purchased,
but I have moved my graphics showroom to the new area and also expanded my operation to include
an adult oriented dance club.
