TI Engineers Develop OMAP3530 Board for FOSS Community

According to a LinuxDevices.com
article, "A small group of Texas Instruments (TI) employees is
readying a low-cost development board with an open hardware design."
The embedded controller, know as the Beagle board is being developed for
use with Linux. It includes TI's OMAP3530 SoC which is based on the
600MHz ARM Cortex-A8 core and can deliver 1200 MIPS. They also threw in
a 430MHz TMS320C60x core, an Imagination SGX 2D/3D graphics processor,
128MB of RAM and 256MB of Flash (there's also an SD slot if you need
more memory). In addition to USB, serial, audio, video, and JTAG, the
board also sports programmable LEDS and pushbuttons, and a 28 pin header
with I2C, I2S, SPI, and GPIO ports. An extensive hardware
reference manual (PDF format) is available. The board is still under
development with a beta version available now and an improved version
expected later this year. The cost is $149. For more information on
Linux support for the Beagle board, see the Embedded Linux Wiki Beagle board
page.
