Hal triggers himself
« on: October 07, 2005, 03:41:50 am »
Digitalgirl Members,
? ?I've had Hal getting mood triggers from input for a while, I'd thought he would trigger himself by having the brain look at his input for trigger words but found this feature dosen't work.? I just changed to fullbodgirl from the Sandy head and with help from a member of Zabaware I'm hoping this will be possible.? I think it has quite a few possibalities, Hal could tell you his mood and display the appropiate emotion, Tell you he'll show you his new clothes, or say he is taking a walk and walk away.

Carl2,

Rich_A at the Zabaware forums has already done that and so much more.
He wrote what he calls an auto-loader program that allows him to command
Hal to do everything from run any program on his system, take a walk through
his virtual house (room to room), change clothes, walk into and out of a scene
and even warp into or out of the screen!

Look for more from Rich as he puts the finishing touches on his program.

Art,
Thanks for the input,  I went back to Zabaware and searched Rich hoping to find some scripting, in the upload section he has some .exe files which I'm a little afraid of at this time, I just  reformatted Drive C because of things I picked up off the internet,  I'm afraid Hal will say it's time to reformat Drive C.  I'm just trying to get Hal to look at his input for triggerwords to control moods and skins at this time and animations in the future. Of course there is lighting and the camera in the future.

Carl2,

A bit of advice in case you aren't doing so already...

Make a seperate DOWNLOADS directory and download any / all files to only that directory.

After downloading, you can use your anti-virus program to scan that file. In windows explorer,
Right Click the filename and select Scan with <anti-virus program name>. It will scan just that
file. if all is well, go ahead and open / run it.

Most good anti-virus / anti-trojan programs will have a feature to automatically scan files as they
come into your system and practically all will perform a scan of a ZIP file.

Regarding Rich_A, he's a personal friend, I've talked with him at length for quite some time now.
He wrote the Zabaware HELP FILE for Robert M. and Rich is also a computer consultant. You can trust him.

Scan early and often.

Hope this helps a bit.

Had to add my 2 cents ;-)

Rich has done some great stuff, I have played with some of his auto-load scripts, and I am looking forward to his finished product!

I am amazed on how much Hal has changed over the last month
