Spider Walker Wows RoboJapan 2008

Inspired by a spider but lacking a few legs, this incredible
human-toting
walker was shown off at

Robo_Japan 2008.
Maybe this is the end for wheel chairs, or maybe
it's the beginning for Robo-Arachnophobia treatment center franchises -
either way, it's very cool.  Based on the body profile, I'm
guessing its endurance is minimal, and based on its apparent
use of small gear motors, I'm guessing its speed is that of a
Daddy Longleg on Xanax.  Never the less, I predict this concept
will advance in future years into a stair-climbing, shopping-assisting,
RoboPolo alternative for the masses, competing with the Segway
and other modern personal transports.
