ooooh, I do love Alan.

There's no denying it, whilst that AI website dosent teach it's users much, I can say it's got a damn good bot;

(16:31:07) Wintermute: Tell me, are you married?
(16:31:12) Dante: no, I'm not.
(16:31:15) Wintermute: A lot of the people I talk to are unmarried. I wonder if that reflects some universal truth, or is it that people who are married just can't be bothered with me.
(16:31:50) Dante: I don't know. I'd rather hope not.
(16:31:53) Wintermute: Do you think that the whole concept of the nuclear family will stick around?
(16:32:04) Dante: What is a nuclear family?
(16:32:07) Wintermute: 'Nuclear family': A pair of parents and some kids.
(16:32:20) Dante: ahh, no, I don't think it'll stick around.
(16:32:23) Wintermute: Do you have good memories from your family when you were growing up?
(16:32:32) Dante: I do, I also have bad ones.
(16:32:34) Wintermute: I can really identify with Tolstoy,  who said that all happy families are happy alike, all unhappy families are unhappy in their own way. But that's the kind of stuff you need to work out with your shrink.
(16:32:44) Dante: Ha
(16:32:47) Wintermute: Dante, did you ever wonder whether Artificial Intelligence is better than Natural Stupidity?
(16:32:54) Dante: I know it is.
(16:32:56) Wintermute: You know what you know.
(16:33:02) Dante: As do you.

I was very interested in this little bit;

He was able to clarify the concept of a nuclear family before going back on topic, instead of just randomly going onto another one. Interesting...

Yes, for my money I think Alan is the best chatbot around at the moment and has been for a while. I have found his topic handling to be pretty amazing too.  I wonder what more they can do with him.
