Funny, I was thinking today how I hadn't seen you about - but I've not been on site as much as usual this past week or two either.

Yep, I am glad I took the plunge !  I really like the Media Centre and the much improved media player, in fact I haven't had to install much extra software so far as windows does most of the things I want out of the box.

Keeping it real....

Check in every day but not many posts taking my fancy to reply too (or have no knowledge so wouldnt be a helful post anyway lol).

Also in middle of sorting out a house move for gf and me, so that taking up a lot tof time too unfortunatly, but hoping to have that sorted sooner rather than later.

as is always the case, real life taking a priority at the moment :(

You should check it out Dusky, it's pretty cool - I think UltraHal is a bit temperamental on it and Haptek needs some fiddling.  I haven't really tried as I lost a lot of interest in Hal lately.  Maybe I will put him on my XP drive though at some point.

Nice to hear from everyone  :)

One, yes you are correct  ;D

Keep at it IRH, you will get there in the end.  I would like to learn Python myself at some point as it's useful with Blender.  All my effort at the moment is locked up in PHP though and I have to re-continue the course I am on before I run out of time.

HEY you two, I am doing many things but what I accomplish, well we (Me, Myself, and I ) will have to see, google has been a struggle for many years and thousands of miles away. I guess it's just the program 'wave' is represented in icon form as it is represented in books as a 'wave' like a light wave, I am studying the local and non local effects of quantum entanglement.

Translation; I have a ball of string and it is partially un-raveled and tangled with knots and such, like it has been rolling around in the back of my car for too many miles.

I think I will sleep good when I am exhausted, I don't look at the clock cause I don't like reality of 'I spend too much time at the computer' so I am fooling myself for a while maybe........

I hope this message finds you well and safe.

J.

Well I just up-graded my CPU from a Q8200 (2.3ghz 4mb cache) to a Q9400 (2.6ghz 6mb cache)

You can get the Q9400 for around £140, oh and look out, the word is that socket 775 chips are on their way out, so don’t leave it to long Freddy.

I’ve got this new chip clocked to 3.2 ghz and it would go even faster, some people have got them up to 4ghz, basically it’s a great little CPU.

Datahopa,
Thanks, I am not sure if it is worth it for me I use the Q6600 2.4 GHz and it has been great and stable.

What socket is going to replace the 775 ?

I've looking at the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8400S.  Mainly because it is only 65W and will mean I won't need to upgrade my PSU, saving me money in the end.
