I did a bit of coding on the front page today and now the home page should load more quickly.

I had been noticing a lot of lag there and that was being caused mainly by the RSS feed from the BBC.  I trimmed down the feed and now the feed is cached so it doesn't have to process it on every page load.  Now it simply reads from a flat file that gets updated every six hours.

It seems quicker to me and may help with the rest of the site speed-wise too.
