Saw this on the Google news ticker today, slightly different !

Ioannis Ieropoulos and other researchers at Bristol Robotics Laboratory in the U.K. have created a marvel of modern science--a robot that can feed on biomass and excrete waste. The EcoBot III has an artificial gut that allows it to survive on fluid food and water for seven days without human intervention.

I am not saying that because of I am Greek, but Greek people excel everywhere except their homeland. It is amazing how educated people like the researcher above, add value to the UK, USA and elsewhere and can not add value to their home country, because of political corruption. Sometimes I think Greece needs rebuilding from the foundations and up. No matter how many years will pass bright Greek minds will excel abroad and not in their country. It is simply amazing if you think about it

Interesting idea, one thing they have to improve is the efficiency of its digestion, its only 1% at the moment. Maybe if they ever perfect the technology we might have power stations that work with say old rotten food, man that would make big poop.
