Verbots seems to be a rule-based system. I've tried the demo and while it's not very bright, it could be rather personable just out of the box. A little.

The registration is only $10! Not bad, really. I think this was meant to be a question/answer assistant, but it does allow reading and learning (I presume) from text files, as well as remembering data from CVS files (they give spreadsheet and address book data as examples in their help file).

Might be interesting to look into.

          I have the verbot program and I like it alot, you can do alot with it, It can learn and remember! I think it is alot better than Hal6, but It does not have any 3d heads,  :zdg_tantrum well any way I own over 100 msagents I own Verbot and mash 2 of the best msprograms out there right now!!

Nice link, I think I saw these last year sometime, but never got back to it, it looks good - nice site too.

So do you think this program would be better with a 3d Head than what it has now Mark ?

                       Well I just wanted to say that programing Hal6 stinks, but programing verbot alot more fun. but then again Hal has 3D with it, So I do not know if that makes it harder to be programed  :zdg_flag_blah!
 anyway Hal would be better if it was easyer to make it say what you want it to say when you wanted to say it! but I must say that the 3D head and full body people in a program is very very very Cool! I use Hal5 demo to talk to them and if i screw up I just reinstall it and try again.... People Putty is very Cool, would like more hair hats and things to play with but all in all it is just fine, it makes ogg files for me and Hap files too, and i'm just leaning all this stuff it will blow your mind!!! :zdg_cauldren
    I need more face photos it is hard to get a good face photo, people got there mouth open, not looking straight etc.. :zdg_flag_blah :zdg_flag_blah
