Another from Aldebaran
« on: November 21, 2011, 10:29:01 pm »
Only this time it's a little bigger than Nao. OK...it's a humanoid bot that's 1.4 meters tall (that's a little over 4 1/2' for people not using metric).
They are going to market it as a domestic help-mate for those who migh be elderly, shut-in, disabled, etc. and I expect we'll be seeing more of this and other companies as well.

20 years or so from now, such house mates might be rather common place, perhaps sooner but the cost will be the deciding factor. Maybe they will be sold like cars. Great deal on last years model for you only has 6.5 demo miles on it...make you a really good buy on this one. How about a used bot that was traded in for a newer model. I can just imagine the hype and the sale pitches. Oh boy...we're probably just creating another monster and just don't realize it yet!

Anyhow, Here's Romeo...yeah...I know...I didn't name it...don't blame me!  ^-^
