Check out Verizon's latest patent pending device. Creepy just isn't in their vocabulary...

Surely people would be able to opt out. Can't see it happening...

I've heard of similar technology before. I think it was MS doing something like  that with their xbox. It's all a bit to 'big brother's watching' for me..

I would stick a bit of tape over the camera and a bit of blue tack over the microphone, or better still take the device apart and disconnect it, snip them wires. Job done O0

Easy to say, then suddenly, with a knock on your door...ACK!! It's the WIRE POLICE and they KNOW you've SNIPPED a CONNECTED WIRE!!!
They grab your cutters, vacuum your carpet and seize your refuse bags as forensic evidence!
Woe be unto you...you snipper of wires!! You cannot separate yourself from those who need to watch! You will be seen!!! It's the law!!

ACKK!! Waking up in a cold sweat you realize it has been a dream...at least you think it was. Pulling back the sheets you hook a fingernail.
Darn, where are those nail clippers. Can't find them anywhere. No clippers, strippers or nippers of any kind. Funny...no refuse bags in the
basket either and everything looks in order. Hmm...let's see what's on the Tele....
You do not see the tiny red led come on as the tiny camera adjusts to the room light....

Nice that they do the carpet...if there is one thing I can do without it is the vacuuming...
