The robot tricks to bridge the uncanny valley

Giving robots a series of small behavioural tics can make help them appear a lot more human, which makes us feel more comfortable interacting with them.

After I read this I added a "glance away" animation to my own program's face :). They have omitted the most effective trick though: Blinking.
CO2 retains heat. More CO2 in the air = hotter climate.

Yeah I added blinking to my avatar system a couple of weeks back. Really gives it something extra.

I'm seeing games use a lot more of this incidental animation now, to give a more realistic impression that the character is alive. Gives me ideas. :)
