New to the community, Hello!
« on: June 21, 2015, 08:14:06 pm »
My name is Jared, and I am 19 years old. I am an upcoming freshman at the University of Oklahoma, and I will be majoring in Computer Science and Electrical Engineering in the fall.

My friend and I are working on a few engineering/CS related projects this summer. One of these projects is an AI that can play simple 2d games. This community looks like a great resource for newbies entering the AI development world.

Looking forward to learning and communicating with the various members throughout the community!

Welcome!

Look up any of those booklets entitled, "Basic Computer Games" by David H. Ahl

They have lots of 2D games of all kinds and should prove to be a great resource for your project.

Good luck!
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

orthogonal ai (2d is orthogonal, just missing a coordinate) is actually where the action happens,  if you wanted to do 3d,  convert to world space before you do your ai, then your axi match up.

One more thing, 1d is orthogonal too,  and your ear is actually orthogonal because its only over time, making text generators simple, as its just letters on a line.

Things get tricky, and seemingly difficult, when dealing with 3d on a 2d plane,  but dont let it discourage you, the simplest way to rid yourself of it, is with an ordinary girly kinect depth map hardware.

But theres more advanced ways, if you actually want to impress me.

Hi Jared
I have worked on neural network training using MATLAB for pattern recognition in my final year project. It is a very interesting topic. I'll be happy to help if you may need. :)
