They’re the robots carrying out vital research at the University of East Anglia.

Sea gliders – which monitor everything from salt levels to underwater temperatures – are just one of the tools that academics at the university have to hand.

But they need people to operate and control them – and they’ve just secured funding to train up their PhD students – to continue their important work.
