I think keyword and response and basic question and answer file .... Will suffice fir a virtual assistant .. As long as he understands the commands you give ....

Even if he is a troubleshooter he would need a decision tree to determine the problem and find the probable answer ..  (Based on past cases)
Ie: a paper i read (doesn't matter who) had a set of transcripts from the networking department / it support assists .... The transcripts were used as a set of responses as well as a decision tree to determine the users problem ... Eventually solving the problem with a set of questions. ... And solutions ....

These types of assistants are great to make if you have the transcripts and matching solutions saved ....
This is what eliza was supposed to do ... But its hard to get the transcripts for a simple psychiatrists session ... To determine ?
Often these types of information are not available ... These are the valuable resources....

Sometimes I am annoyed by how we cannot stick to the topic for even a single page. But all is well since the ultimate goal of my news-related posts is to start a discussion and keep things alive and brains working. Sadly we always end up jabbing about the same things instead of sidetracking on different tracks every time.

I believe we need to open our minds more. Maybe watch Doctor Who, listen to Russel Brand or perhaps read a book from a genre you usually avoid. It's good practice to always keep our consciousness expanding. I have found that when exploring different aspects of life I reveal more from the ones I had previously explored.
I always get the most inspiration regarding my A.I. adventure when I think about it while doing something seemingly unrelated (everything is related in this (uni)verse of ours.

P.S. I also support the idea of using magic mushrooms or psychedelic honey.

EDIT: Forgot something - as usual.
We may be about to witness publicly, that which has already happened secretly.
This is on-topic and I agree. I get this strange feeling in my gut and it agrees with you.
Software and Hardware developer, and everything in between.

Hmm...it's only a Secret if just ONE person knows something. O0
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!
