My first experience was with a twenty questions program that learnt new things. All on the humble ZX Spectrum back in the 80s.

It's a fascinating thing and there are some great problems to think about solving.

Yes, I remember being disappointed because I couldn't use "EDIT 30" from inside the program... What a furious kid, already trying to write some self-modifying BASIC code!
