one benefit of studying AI is 'containment of the information explosion'. What's meaning of that?

Welcome along to the forum.

Not sure I personally understand the term, but to me it would be that 'too much information' released 'too quickly' would have a negative impact rather than a positive one. How that correlates to AI I am not sure, but hopefully some of our more 'tech headed' friends here can help you.

Possibly, how do we as a society comprised of many individual organizations, manage the vast amounts
of information that we all have and receive on an hourly, daily and weekly basis, and to what end?

Do we have too much or do we have more than we can reliable handle?
