Hi! My name is Rafael and I'm a PhD student at UFRGS (Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil). My BSc thesis was about a hierarchical self-organizing neural network for pattern recognition, and my MSc was about time-series prediction with a new kind of neural network being developed by my research group (more details can be found in my personal website: http://www.inf.ufrgs.br/~rcpinto ). My PhD project, at least for now, is an artificial intelligence architecture built on top of hierarchical neural networks (the ones proposed in my MSc dissertation) and continuous reinforcement learning. I hope that my proposed architecture can achieve mammal intelligence (according to ConScale: http://www.consscale.com/) in the next 4 years. I love to talk about ideas in this field and hope to do it here

interesting stuff. What exactly do you mean with different type of neural network?

For your info: my system also uses a type of neural network, based on resonance.
