Hello World
« on: March 26, 2018, 01:04:10 pm »
I'm an indie video game developer and ever since I was a teenager making point-click adventure games in Hypercard on my Machintosh Plus, I've had an interest in AI. Back then, I wished that there was some magic chunk of code that I could drop into my game and have the AI figure itself out. Which sent me down the road of learning why that wasn't possible.

My own AI project is the fruit of that pursuit. I call it AIRIS (Autonomous Intelligent Reinforcement Interpreted Symbolism).

I love reading about new developments in AI and chatting with other AI enthusiasts, so I'm glad I found this forum!

I think you just made your dream come tru! :)
wow airis looks really good.      respect!   thats amazing work,  total genius...  did u get help to come up with it?

this helped me alot, thankyou.

I was wondering,  once the knowledge to complete the puzzle is inside the database, do u have a search inside its model for the solution - so you can go straight to it?

That's quite an extremely well thought out project and nicely explained as well.

Thanks for showcasing/sharing your work.

Well done!
In the world of AI, it's the thought that counts!

Thanks everyone!

did u get help to come up with it?

Just friends and family that put up with me bouncing ideas and thought experiments off them :). It was mostly a lot of introspective analysis of how I dealt with new information and problem solving.

I was wondering,  once the knowledge to complete the puzzle is inside the database, do u have a search inside its model for the solution - so you can go straight to it?

In a way, yes. Once the AI has enough knowledge to generate predictive models it generates a whole bunch of them in pursuit of its goal. It does a depth-first search of each new model that it generates to evaluate which new model is closest to its goal, then generates more models based on that model. I have an article on my site that goes into more details about that: https://airis-ai.com/2018/03/08/anatomy-of-prediction-and-predictive-ai/

Looks to me your ideas are working,  You kicked alot of butt to nail that symbolic knowledge gathering. (and how to use it.) where lots of people attempt but can easily get stumped and get nowhere.

Just the sight of your machine working, is making it easier for others to do ai,  its a bit of a ripoff that one guy does all the work then everyone benefits.
gets me a bit annoyed, the truth about some parts of life.

Heh! Thanks. I'm all for the democratization of AGI, so it doesn't bother me at all if my work helps others with theirs.

thats nice,  but what about all the ingrates,  they can die in disbelief if i got what i wanted.   Its people that push the impossible, that kick butt, but also that get taken advantage of.

There's a great quote by the computer pioneer Howard H. Aiken:

Quote
Don't worry about people stealing an idea. If it's original, you will have to ram it down their throats.
