Project - Mind Loop
« on: January 08, 2013, 12:39:08 am »
Hi, I'm Harry and I'm a Java / C# programmer.
My AI system is called MindLoop.

I'm planning to have a go at the Turing (Loebner) test and any and all others.
My approach is wildly different from the norm and I'm looking for anyone and everyone
to bounce ideas off - please follow along on Facebook by searching for 'Mind Loop'.

I promise - this project will knock your socks off...  : )

Welcome, Harry.

Unfortunately, a lot of people prefer NOT to participate in the so-called Social Networks like Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and others.
Those places often elicit responses that are from obviously uninformed people with regard to the workings, concepts or ideas of AI
especially chatbots, etc.

I feel that you would have a better chance of getting more "realistic" feedback and alternate viewpoints were you to address the majority
of your issues here, at a dedicated site instead of such an open, free-for-all platform.

Just my $.02 but it's your project...do as you please and good luck!

Hi,

It will definitely be interesting to see where the most useful feedback comes from (I suspect you're right!)

I'll save facebook updates for the masses ; )

Thanks.

Finally found the time to sit down and write a concise overview of the project at http://mindloop.blogspot.com

All comments welcomed.

Wow, quite an adventurous project you have in mind.  How long do you think it will take ?

Agreed but it still sounds like an Intelligent SIMS on Steroids in a Second Life world! (that is meant as a compliment).

Quite an undertaking!!

Hi Freddy,

I think after a few months I'll have all the bits (except the brain) at proof of concept stage. Then it will be a case of developing the brain and slowly adding detail to the other areas in tandem.

I think the part that makes the project sound big is the 3D aspect - but I am keen to downplay this. It'll be dots and lines, like old CAD programs. Not much to look at, but hopefully enough to give the 'bots a 'spatial' world operate in.

Thanks for your interest!

Oh no you don't!! Dots and lines? Indeed! This is the 21st century! We don't do dots and lines any longer! We do head pounding, in your face, 3D, with all the sights and sounds the mind can imagine!!

Ahem...ok dots and lines will be fine for a start. Thank you!  ;)

Good luck!

The 'bots will experience a more colourful world, but I'll be dots and lines for us outsiders.
Just working on a very basic fly-through (from space to a house / plugsocket) then I'll post a video : )
