Career in AI
« on: November 08, 2018, 09:33:34 am »
Hi folks,

I'm Pat. While not directly a practitioner in the AI/Data Science field I have a life long interest in the topic and kept watching the recent developments in the field closely. Then half a year ago it struck me like a lightning and I thought there must be a faster, better and simpler solution to job search in the AI space.

Having a background as a full-stack dev I got the impression that, for most, conventional job boards don't serve the AI market very well and it seems inefficient mixing IT/tech listings with AI and Data Science - so, I thought there should be a dedicated solution to such a large emerging field. But there wasn't. Not one that I thought of doing the job with as less friction and fluff as possible.

So I launched https://ai-jobs.net last month. The site originally started as 2 regional job sites in Switzerland and the UK this summer and now got merged into ai-jobs.net to cover the global potential of the rising demand in AI/ML and Big Data professionals. Hope you enjoy it - happy hiring!

cheers
Pat

But its kinda related.   :2funny:

Welcome Pat.

Ranched mentioned, "unless u organize one for yourself" about A.I. jobs.

That was good insight, Ranch!  Seems, that's just what Pat did.

Hi sir/madam ai_pat, I have a job for you.

I need you to help finish my AGI algorithm that I'm desperately depressingly sacrificially tackling day and night. It is worth a large sum of money (Euros), all on its own. If you don't help me, I will cry.

Lock,

While I certainly don't recommend this site, it does have an interesting article that you might wish to read as it contains some good things for you to keep in mind.

Art,

While the points made in that article are very true, I wouldn't try to dissuade LS because for once he is performing a service which may be of some value. That is, if he finds someone who is stupid enough to waste any time whatsoever with him, he will be preventing that imbecile from wasting anyone else's time. As a bonus, LS may even stop wasting so much of our time. We can dream can't we?

The last one I did in was a Deep Learner and NLP expert for 10 years, she was a beauty, great programmer, she coded the first part of my algorithm in ~1 day and its already amazing! ITS NEW AND SHE HASN'T SEEN IT BEFORE! That was a month ago and my plan was realized half a year ago and is solid. Spent 607USD. But we broke up on the freelancer site. And she was my first hit (on the other site, ok, there was one first hit too, he's on day 60, and really dumb), I have talked on chat with over 50 coders and have as "friends" over 20 coders, unfortunately now I'm looking for a programmer again and found one, I like it when they say "I like to learn lots" because this guy is a physicist, programmer, AI guy, and mathematician and said he wants to help me on the cost and the project starting tomorrow. If only yous would listen and fund me, jokes aside, I'm crazy serious about getting what AGI is we need it to do.

All jokes aside, if you want a career in AI, then you have a job right here today, my job, I'll pay you (even though I should be payed). The worst that can happen is it blows. I try hard to solve AGI, let's code my simple instructions today.

Lock has the key.
