The Bit-52's

Our recent story on The
Trons prompted Suirt Blurt to write,
"Here's another Robot Band Playing The B-52's - Rock Lobster.
Similar to the Trons but this band is playing a well known song".
This time it's The
Bit-52s, a robot band whose creator, bd594, says he was
motivated by seeing New Zealand's robot band, The Trons. The Bit-52s
includes a variety of new and vintage hardware including a TI99/4a
computer for speech synthesis and two HP Scanjet 3C scanners, also used
for vocals. A variety of push and pull solenoids actuate the cow bell,
cymbals, tambourine, keyboard, and guitar; all controlled by two
PIC16F84A microcontrollers through some ULN2803 driver chips.
